I wanted to send you another update to let you know where we are today. This storm, as I am sure you have been watching, is massive. It is a Category 5, dangerous storm, that at this point is headed up the east coast of Florida per the National Hurricane Center. The state of Florida is in a state of emergency and there are mandatory evacuations throughout Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County.
Please be aware we are working day and night with full staff securing homes. We have already secured a tremendous amount of homes and we will be working through tomorrow night to ensure that we have fulfilled our commitment to secure your home. We are not taking on any additional requests of services and if you had asked us not to close your shutters, we will not be able to return to your home if you have changed your mind.
We are sending emails to let you know that your house has been secured; but please feel free to email me directly at csollins@homecarepro.com. I am sure that you can understand that this is an unprecedented act of mother nature, but we are doing everything in our power to make sure your home is secured.
This is the calm before the storm and it is chaotic. Gas stations are out of gas and the gas stations that have gas have lines down the street with police monitoring them. Grocery stores are sold out of water, canned goods, and everything that you need for hurricane preparations.
We are prepared and plan for this type of chaos. Tropical forced winds will be beginning late Friday night thus we will be closing our office Friday evening once all homes have been secured and will not be re-opening until the all clear has been given and the roads are driveable. We will not be responding to emergency calls after Friday night.
I will be sending another update tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening prior to us closing our office. This email will have important information on how to contact us should power and internet be down; and explain to you our post hurricane action plan.
This is a scary time but our staff is going above and beyond to make sure that your homes are secured. I also need to take into account that my staff needs to take care of their homes as well which is why we are closing the office Friday night so they can prepare their own homes.
