Tropical Storm Idalia which is soon to be Hurricane Idalia will be affecting the state of Florida. The storm per the National Hurricane Center will be hitting the west side of the state and they are predicting landfall somewhere in the panhandle. As we are not in the cone we will not be implementing hurricane procedures. We still are expected to get some wind gusts and a bit of rain as we are on the dirty side of the storm which is the backside of the storm.
The storm is predicted now to be a category 3 or 4 storm due to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Just yesterday they were not predicting such a powerful storm but with waters being this hot the storm has increased just overnight.
