2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season
Accuweather has updated their outlook for the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season. They are expecting a more active season than normal with an updated forecast of 14-20 tropical storms, with 7 to 11 becoming hurricanes. Of those hurricanes, they are expecting 4 to 6 to become major hurricanes, which means a Category 3 strength or higher. Continue reading here.
It Only Takes One Storm…
An average hurricane season has 12 named storms in the Atlantic, six of which strengthen into hurricanes, and three of those becoming major hurricanes. Last year’s hurricane season featured above normal activity, producing 18 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes of Category 3 strength or higher. Continue reading here.
