Sure, we all try to get in shape for the summer, but have you thought about getting your home in shape too? Your air conditioner is the heart of the home. It is constantly working to generate cool air so that you can enjoy your home during the summer heat. We want to help you keep your home in shape this summer by offering a few tips on your air conditioning system.
Check Up
- Make sure the power to your AC is shut off and check the coils and fan. If cleaning is needed, use a hose and a soft brush.
- Make sure the landscaping has not overgrown around the unit- all landscaping should be at least a foot away from the sides of the unit and three feet away from the condenser.
- Extend the life of your AC by scheduling and inspection with a licensed heating and cooling technician at least twice a year.
Changing Filters
Each month air filters should be replaced with new filters to ensure clean air throughout the home. Changing your air filter also helps save on energy cost by allowing clean air to flow through vents.
