Good Afternoon!!!

I wanted to give everyone hopefully a final update on Hurricane Milton regarding services for your home. Our plan is to go back to normal operations on Monday.

The residents of Palm Beach County were overall very lucky in comparison to other areas in the state that were affected by the storm. GHMS as a company was prepared and ready. Our heart goes out to the residents that were affected by the storm!!!

We are out there completing post inspections of your home. We are mainly finding light debris around homes but in certain cases we have found roof leaks and other small damage that we are reporting to everyone. The biggest damage came from the Tornado that went through the Avenir community.

Our team will be working to open up homes where clients are in residence today and we are working tomorrow, which is Saturday, to continue this process. By tomorrow night all homes that needed to be opened up will be completed.

If you had planned to arrive this week or next and your plans now have changed due to travel issues, please call our office and let us know so we can make sure we adjust our schedules to accommodate your plans.

Last Friday at this time there was not even a mention of the storm. It did not come to light till the National Hurricane Center on Saturday late afternoon said the disturbance was forming. I am pleased that we were able to jump on closing homes immediately and took a proactive approach. Even though the storm veered a bit to the north and we got lucky it easily could have veered more south, and we would have had a more adverse effect from the storm.

After a storm I feel it is important to look within to understand how we can do better. There are a few things I see on our end that we will work to improve on. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for us, as the best way to learn and improve is from our customers’ feedback. I will say the hundreds of hours we spent over the summer preparing administratively made a huge difference in us mobilizing quickly.

I want to THANK my team for performing so well and working the long hours they did so we were able to close up everyone’s homes. I also want to THANK YOU the customer for working with us to achieve the task that we were faced with.
