Good evening!!!!

Not much additional to the report but still wanted to take the time to give everyone an update.

We will finish closing and securing all homes tomorrow prior to the storm.  The storm has not changed much in its direction, but we will know more tomorrow after the 8:00 AM National Weather Update.  We are still expected at this time to have quite a bit of rain and will have tropical storm effects and if the track moves a bit south when hitting the coast of Florida could be Category 1 winds.

The storm last night was downgraded to a Category 4 storm as the eye wall was in its regeneration period, but now it is more defined, and winds have increased and regaining its strength to be a Category 5 storm.  The storm will hit the west coast of Florida as either a Category 4 or 5 storm which is a major hurricane with life threatening winds and a catastrophic storm surge.

The team at GHMS has been doing a great job and working very hard to secure your home. We met again in the office at 5:30 AM and the last crew just got in for the night because it is dark, and they could not do any additional work tonight. I am very proud of their commitment to ensure our client’s homes are secured. We will be at it again early tomorrow morning and will be finishing up in the latter part of the afternoon before everyone has to head home to secure their homes.

Here is a video message update that I prepared for everyone: Chip’s Hurricane Milton Update – 10/8/24 at 6:30 pm

I will have another update tomorrow on the status of the storm. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out.

Thanks,

Chip
