As Hurricane Milton has now passed over the State of Florida my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by the storm as the destruction and devastation on the West Coast is quite vast.
Please find below a quick update as I am sure many of you were wondering and concerned about the status of the area.
Our region was lucky and dodged the bullet. (except for where the tornadoes touched down in the community of Avenir). The storm moved a bit north prior to making landfall and the 25-mile difference in the shift made a huge difference. The bigger issues were from the tornados that hit our area on Wednesday night. I have attached a link to the FPL website showing power outages. Presently at the time of this email there are 52,460 power outages in Palm Beach County at the moment. When I looked at the website early this morning there were over 73,000 outages so I am sure FPL is working as quickly as possible to restore power to homes.
There are tree limbs down, palm fronds down, leaves from the trees all over and pools are quite a mess. Until we inspect homes, we are not aware of any other damage at this time
Our office is open administratively to answer calls and emails so if you have any questions, please let us know. We may not answer the phone but please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you today. Tomorrow we will start inspecting homes and sending reports to let you know the status of your home. If Power is out and your fridge has food in it that will spoil, we will empty your fridge/freezer. Also, tomorrow we will be sending out crews to open shutters and reverse the process of the closedown
Many businesses and retail operations are still closed today but some are reopening and tomorrow everything should be open for normal business.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out
Thanks,
Chip
