Good afternoon!!!!
This is your Hurricane Milton Update! I feel like one of the news channels that say this :)
All gears are moving along as planned on our side here. I am thankful for all the preparation over the summer to prepare for situations like this as it is paying off big time. Putting together such a response with such little time is challenging to say the least but the fact that we spent countless hours being administratively efficient is making all the difference.
We started in the office at 5:30 AM with a meeting of the team to get all work orders organized, crews set up and everyone then headed out to start closing homes for the storm. We have work orders in for all the homes to put furniture away and close accordion shutters where applicable. If you have replied back that you did not want service, we will not be going to your home. As I have stated normally, we have 5 to 6 days to prepare and with this storm coming out of nowhere we are working double time to get things done. Please note that all work orders for handyman and other services unless emergency situations have been suspended and will be rescheduled after the storm.
The storm has intensified and will be hitting the west coast as a major hurricane and could be a Category 4 or Category 5 storm when it arrives. Our area will be affected but not to this extent, but we will be faced with tropical storm winds and could be a low-grade Category 1 storm, but it is still too early to tell. The storm center at the time of this writing should be a bit to the north of this but storms moved, and we need to be ready. The track that Hurricane Milton is taking at the moment has not been taken since 1948 per news reports
Here is a video message update that I prepared for everyone regarding the storm: Chip’s Hurricane Milton Update – 10/7/24 at 12:00 pm
As always if you have any questions, please email me or call the office and someone will help you. If we do not get to answer the phone due to the volume of calls coming in, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you.
My prayers and thoughts are with the residents of the West Coast of Florida!
Thank you
Chip
