I wanted to give everyone an update on Hurricane Milton!
All crews came in around 4:00 PM and we completed closing up and securing 100% of the homes we manage. It was not an easy few days but all the planning from the past months and the hard work of the staff at GHMS made this all possible. I closed the office so everyone could now go home and prepare their homes and spend time with their families.
The storm is predicted to hit the Sarasota area of the West Coast of Florida, and we are expected to see Tropical Storm winds at this time. The forecast can change, and we are watching this closely.
We are presently experiencing a tremendous number of Tornadoes in our area. Tornadoes have set down in Wellington causing damage and there is presently one in the Jupiter Farms neighborhood which I am following closely. My wife and I are getting alerts on our phone regarding tornadoes every 5 minutes. I am hopeful this will end soon and there will be no further damage to our area. We are on what they call the dirty side of the storm, which is what is creating these tornadoes.
With regards to our operations please note the following:
- Our office is closed but we are monitoring the phones and emails. All staff have been sent home and we are not reopening for work to be completed at homes till Friday morning if we have the all clear from the authorities
- On Friday we will begin inspecting homes and reporting to you any issues. I have attached a sample report you will receive when the inspection of your home is completed. All homes will be inspected within 48 hours after the all clear is given.
- If you have an emergency, please call and leave a message on the emergency line and please email me directly as I will be monitoring my email.
- If there is no power to your home when we complete our post hurricane inspection, we will empty and clean out your fridge and freezer.
- Please check our website as we will be adding updates when applicable
- There is the chance we can lose power, but we have back up plans to be able to respond and communicate back to everyone but please be patient
- If you need assistance with something please email myself csollins@homecarepro.com or Tia at tia@homecarepro.com and we will get back to you
- On Friday we will be sending crews to start opening homes with clients in residence and will start working on other properties.
If you feel we have done a good job preparing your house for the storm, please feel free to leave us a google review which I have attached the link to make it easy for you. This does help us and would be appreciated.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I will be sending another update tomorrow to let everyone know how Palm Beach County is being affected by the storm
Thanks to everyone and hats off to my staff! Please be safe!
